Welcome to the Davis Besse 1R16 Refueling outage. My name is John Hill. I am the Bartlett Site Coordinator. If you have any questions, you can call me on my cell at 570-204-6329 or call the Bartlett home office and talk to Tricia Cusimano at ext. 1268 or Mike Messier at ext. 1275.
Davis Besse is a 1 unit PWR. It is owned by First Energy and is operated by the First Energy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC). The plant is located in Oak Harbor, OH and is 25 miles east of Teledo, OH.
The outage is currently schedule to commence on February 28, 2010 for a planned duration of 42 days. The week prior to the outage may require you to work some overtime to complete the requried training.
We are scheduled to work 6-12 hour days for the outage. If there is any reason you cannot work a specific shift, day, or must work the same day or opposite shift as someone else, please let me know as soon as possible and I will try (cannot Promise) to accommodate you.
Please report to the Training Building at 0700 on the day you are scheduled to arrive. The training building and the plant are located on Ohio route 2. You are required to park in the contractor parking lot. You will need to forms of identification, (i.e. photo ID and social security card or original bith certificate. Please come prepared with information you may need such as dose history, FFD, etc. Ensure you are on time for all training classes as the schedules are strictly adhered to.
Davis Besse is located along Ohio route 2 in Oak Harbor, Oh. The plant is located 25 miles east of Teledo, Oh. and about 15 miles from Port Clinton, Oh.
From Port Clinton, go west on route 2. From Teledo head east on route 2.
The contractor parking lot will have an yellow flashing light. Park there and follow the side walk to the training building.
Once in the training building go to one of the roll up windows and pick up your schedule and it will tell you what room to go to and I will meet you there.
ANSI certified safety shoes (steel or composite toe) are required in the plant and for some training. Non-prescription safety glasses and hardhats will be provided. If you have a hardhat and a pair of safety glasses, please bring them. Scrubs will not be provided.
If you need to take the NUF Exam, please review the material prior to arriving on site, and be prepared to take the exam.
The NUF Exam is good for 5 years at FENOC sites.
Checks can be cashed at the Giant Eagle Grocery Store in Port clinton if you apply for a Giant Eagel Card.
Wal-Mart located in Catawba also cashes checks.
