BHI Energy-Power Services and Xcel Energy would like to express our thanks for your choice in coming to help us in our upcoming outage.
BHI Energy is extremely proud of the long standing relationship we have here at Prairie Island. We take pride in the way our team members are part of the day to day operation of the plant. Each of us look forward to meeting new friends, working with the regulars and starting on the journey to make 2R-30 the most successful outage to date.

Prairie Island 2R31 Fall 2019 Outage Information
The outage is scheduled to start on October 4, 2019, with a ~30 day duration.

In-Processing
All in-processing personnel will be reporting promptly at 0700 on your scheduled report date, to the Prairie Island Training Center.(Please see pictures in the photo section - Training Center 1 & 2)​​

PLEASE PARK at the ball field parking lot on the right hand side of the road (please see In-Processing Parking photo) and take the paved sidewalk up to the PITC. Report directly to Trailer 1 for in-processing (please see In-Processing Trailer photo).

PLEASE ADHERE TO THE PERSONNEL DRESS POLICY, WHICH REQUIRES US TO WEAR FULL-LENGTH PANTS, SLEEVED SHIRTS WITH NO OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE OR SYMBOLS, NO OPENED TOE SHOES.

Smoking is only permitted in designated outside areas.

Additional Requirements
Xcel Energy performs their own electronic personal history questionnaires (ePHQ) and complete background investigations. You will be contacted via e-mail ~10 days prior to your report date and will be provided a link to complete your ePHQ on-line (please check your spam/junk folder). Individuals must return completed ePHQs at least five (5) business days prior to your scheduled in-processing date. Individuals not returning completed ePHQs prior to these deadlines will not be allowed to process and will require re-scheduling. Also, please be prepared when you arrive to supply the following information if requested.
  • You must bring two forms of ID, at least one of which must be a picture ID, (i.e. valid driver’s license, passport, state photo ID card) and your social security card. Make sure the ID's you bring are current and NOT EXPIRED.
  • You will be required to provide 3 references, with their physical address (not mailing address) and phone number.
  • A copy of DD214 if 5 years or less in the military.
  • 3 years or last access work history with phone numbers and complete addresses.
  • 7 year residence history with addresses.
  • Felony, misdemeanor, traffic or military criminal history since 18th birthday.
Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) are required. NO tennis shoes allowed.
Standard safety glasses and BHI Energy-Power Services hard hats are required inside the plant and will be provided.

Prohibited items
Take the time to check your vehicle for prohibited items before coming on site. This includes but is not limited to full/empty beer and liquor containers, firearms, illegal drugs or paraphernalia.
If in doubt, don’t bring it to site.
Weapons of any kind are not allowed on site property (including parking areas) and will be confiscated.

Training days are 10 hour days.

Please bring your lunch while going through in-processing & training. There is only a 30 minute lunch break and nothing is close or quick enough.
