PER DIEM CHANGES - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

​BHI Energy recently made changes to the payment method of per diem for eligible employees.  To assist you in understanding these changes, we have prepared the following answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If you need further information or have any questions, please call the Payroll Department @ 800-225-0385

1)    If I already have Direct Deposit (DD) will my Per Diem (PD) automatically be deposited ?  YES
2)    Can I still elect to receive a “live” PD check?  PD is a non-taxable earning code on the weekly check.  It is no longer a separate check.  The entire check is paid either DD or live check, based on employee set up.
3)    Is travel expenses and/or travel day PD included as a DD?  For employees recruited out of the Piedmont SC office, travel is part of the weekly check (i.e., would be DD if employee is set up for DD).  For employees recruited out of the Weymouth MA office, travel continues to be a live check.  As we continue to streamline operations, we expect to have a consistent process by year end.
4)    Will cash advances be DDed?  Per Diem advances will continue to be a live check.
5)    Will bonuses/incentives be DDed ?  Bonuses will continue to be a live check.
6)    Can PD be DDed into a different account?  Employees are set up for one direct deposit account.  The entire check is DD into the one account in the employee record.  To ensure operational efficiency and reduced account maintenance and minimal direct deposit rejects, the limit is one account for DD.
7)    How will it appear on my stub?  The Per Diem is a separate non-taxable line item on the check.  The earning code (PD1) shows as a separate line on the check.  The number of days per diem, the per diem rate, and total amount shows on the check stub.
8)    Will my W-2 be any different?  The Per Diem will not show on the W2 earnings, as per diem is not taxable wages.
9)    Can I opt out of DD?  To delete DD, please email payroll@bhienergy.com requesting to cancel DD.  Please include name and last 4 digits of SSN.

Wolf Creek Fall 2019 Outage Information

​The outage is scheduled to start on Spetember  21, 2019, with a approximate 40 day duration.

Tricia Cusimano is the recruiter handling Wolf Creek.

In-Processing

Note:  this information may change, please check back as outage nears to ensure you are on time and in the right place.

 

 

Report promptly at 0630 on your scheduled date to the the Dwight D. Eisenhower building main lobby for inprocessing. The DDE building is just off our main access road from HWY 75 (Please see map/picture). 

DO NOT go to main gate nor attempt to access site.  


If you have been sent any paperwork from BHI, please bring it with you.

 

PLEASE ADHERE TO THE PERSONNEL DRESS POLICY, WHICH REQUIRES US TO WEAR FULL-LENGTH PANTS, SHIRTS WITH NO OFFENSIVE LANUGAGE OR SYMBOLS, AND MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN UPPON ARRIVAL.

Additional Requirements

BHI is now doing PHQ's for this site (through Illuminate), but, you also have to do the WCNOC PHQ as well, including the PADS consent form.
BHI will send bothto you, fill out the WC PHQ and sed back to BHI.
If you get an electronic one from Wolf Creek, call the number and tell them you are working for BHI, some employees were listed as BArtlett (which is no longer a valid employer at WC).. they will change their paperwork to reflect the correct employer and you will not need to fill this electronic PHQ out.

 

You will be contacted via e-mail and provided direction to complete your security paperwork prior to your report date.  Please complete it as sson as possible so your in-processing is not delayed.  Also, please be prepared when you arrive to supply the following information if requested. 

  • You must bring two forms of ID, at least one of which must be a picture ID, (i.e. valid driver’s license, passport, state photo ID card) and your social security card.  Make sure the ID’s you bring are current and NOT EXPIRED.
  • You must have a compleated copy of the medical form that was emailed to you.
 
Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) are required. NO tennis shoes allowed.
Standard safety glasses and BHI Energy-Power Services hard hats are required inside the plant, and will be provided.  If your hard hat has more than your name and 1 sticker on it a new one will be provided for you.

Wolf Creek Generating Station from Kansas City International Airport (MCI)
 
First
City Route
Take I‐29 south toward Kansas City, Mo. Drive approximately 10 miles to I‐635. Drive
south on I‐635 for approximately 12 miles to I‐35 south. Exit.
Or
Country Route
Take I‐29 north toward St. Joseph, Mo., for approximately three miles. Take I‐435 south
for approximately 32 miles to I‐35 south. Take exit 83 toward Wichita, Kan.
Then
Take I‐35 south toward Wichita, Kan., for approximately 70 miles to exit 155
Burlington/Lyndon (also known as BETO Junction).
Take US 75 south toward Burlington for approximately nine miles. The Coffey County
Airport will be on your left, and you should be able to see the Wolf Creek containment
dome ahead on your left. Continue driving about two more miles to the intersection of
US 75 and 17th Road. Turn left (east) on 17th Road toward Sharpe. A sign will indicate Wolf
Creek Power Plant. Burlington is about five miles south on US 75 from this point.
The Dwight D. Eisenhower Learning Center (Wolf Creek Training Center) at 1675 Milo
Lane Northeast is on your right about one mile from US 75. Then 17th Road crosses Coffey
County Lake (the plant’s cooling lake), and the road curves to the right (south). The road
name changes from 17th Road to Oxen Lane. The plant address is 1550 Oxen Lane
Northeast. The Wolf Creek gate is approximately two miles south of the curve.
You must STOP at the gate for authorization to enter. A picture ID will be required.
Follow the Outage Processing signs to the Outage Processing Center/Access Screening
(first right, far end of parking lot) or the visitor signs to the main plant entrance in the
Security Pre‐Screening Facility.
Total travel time to Wolf Creek is approximately two hours.

First
From Ottawa, Kan.
Take I‐35 south toward Emporia/Wichita for approximately 28 miles to exit 155,
Burlington/Lyndon (US 75). Then follow directions below. Travel time is about 45 minutes.
From Topeka, Kan.
Take US 75 south from Topeka to I‐35 for approximately 40 miles. Then follow directions
below. Travel time is about one hour.
From Wichita, Kan.
Take I‐35/Kansas Turnpike north to Emporia. Next take I‐35 north toward Kansas City to
US 75, exit 155. Then follow directions below. Travel time is about two hours.
 
From Emporia, Kan.
Take I‐35 north toward Kansas City for about 27 miles to exit 155, Burlington/Lyndon.
Then follow directions below. Travel time is about 45 minutes.
